Cleanse Your Body. Declutter Your Mind. Lift Your Spirits.

Get the tools needed to incorporate a gentle, yet effective cleansing program into your spring cleaning routine and detox your body, mind and spirit with the help of an experienced Health Coach and Nutritional Consultant and Fitness Professional. You will spend one week easing into and planning for the detox, two weeks detoxing and one week re-introducing foods and preparing the body for a healthy new routine. This is a great way to renew and rejuvenate your body and lift your spirits!

Calhoun, NASM CPT, will use food and movement to show you how to create vibrant health and fun in your busy life. This innovative program is designed to help you transition into a healthier lifestyle that is carefree and effortless. Their interactive approach and informal group setting provides an opportunity for maximum support and growth for the mind, body and soul. You’ll find enjoyment in discovering new foods, experiencing alternative forms of traditional exercise and practicing self-nourishment.

Food Demos & Samplings
New to Natural?
Join, Whole Foods Chef and Produce Manager, Ellen Siegel, and Health Coach and Nutritional Consultant, Kim Rush Lynch, for monthly demonstrations highlighting items from the Natural and Gourmet Foods Department at the Greenbelt Co-op Supermarket & Pharmacy. Ellen and Kim will show you how to incorporate these healthy options into your current lifestyle. This is a great opportunity to sample a product before you make that purchase. These demonstrations take place the second Tuesday of the month from 4 to 6pm or until supplies last. They are free and open to the public. Seasonal & Savory
During the last Wednesday of the month, Ellen and Kim demo and sample a variety of tasty dishes featuring nutritious fruits and vegetables from the Produce Department. In addition, Co-op wine consultant, John Mealey, coordinates tastings of several wines that pair well with the tasty fare. The demos occur in tandem with Patron Appreciation Day, the last Wednesday of the month when shoppers save 5% on their purchases. The demos are from 4 to 6pm or until supplies last. Healthy Horizons
Healthy Horizons is a quarterly program designed to educate its patrons about the benefits of whole foods and healthy living. Certified Nutritional Consultant and Health Coach, Kim Rush Lynch, and Whole Foods Chef and Produce Manager, Ellen Siegel, have designed a variety of health and food education programs designed to help shoppers create healthier meal plans and lifestyles. In addition, these programs are an opportunity to learn more about the Co-op’s natural and organic foods offerings. The programs are FREE; however, registration is required to make sure we have enough samples. All programs are held at the Greenbelt Youth Center at 7pm unless otherwise noted. Holistic Nutrition Certification Program
This is a comprehensive program in the holistic and preventative principles of Nutrition offered at Tulsi Holistic Living in Georgetown, Washington DC. It provides students with a complete and thorough working knowledge of the principles and applications of Holistic Nutrition for promoting health and well-being. The program is created and taught by a Certified Nutritional Consultant® and helps prepare students for national level certification through the American Association of Nutritional Consultants. The course is offered twice a year (Jan – June, Aug – Dec) and covers the following:
