Trying to give your meals a healthy twist? Perhaps you want to cook more delicious greens, whole grains or beans, but haven’t a clue how. In this class we will play with nutrient-dense foods and herbs that may be new to your palette. The menu will focus on on simple dishes using quality ingredients that are kind to our bodies and the environment. This personalized cooking class for you and up to 5 of your friends is designed to address the challenges and needs when cooking healthy meals for a family. Each participant will feel confident in experimenting with the introduced foods. Includes materials, recipes and handouts. (2 – 2.5 hours)

Kids in the Kitchen
During this 90 minute interactive program, students will have an opportunity to explore nutrition through food and cooking. Students will not only learn basic cooking skills (i.e. washing veggies, knife skills and safety, measurements, cooking techniques), but will also learn about seasonal eating, mindful eating and food appreciation. Class size is limited to 8 students and the curriculum is geared towards 3rd through 5th grades although Kim can design programs for other grade levels. Groups must provide two adult volunteers, or Cultivating Health can provide staff for an additional fee.
